David Bowie Releases New Video "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)"

February 27, 2013

After 10 years of silence, the Thin White Duke is back with a new album, and a new video for the second single off The Next Day, "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)". As you would expect from Bowie, the video is jarring, surreal, slightly terrifying, and absolutely beautiful. The song is perfect, as always. Although, it's bad luck for the folks who run Tilda Stardust, and were previously convinced that Tilda Swinton and David Bowie were actually the same person.

"The Stars (Are Out Tonight)" features an aging Bowie meditating on fame, and stars Tilda Swinton as his suburban wife. We could talk all day about this, but really...it's better to just shut up and watch it. Enjoy!

Starring David Bowie, Tilda Swinton, Andrej Pejic and Saskia De Brauw. Directed by Floria Sigismondi and shot by Jeff Cronenweth.
