George Miller dropped by the Warner Bros.' San Diego Comic-Con panel and shared the first trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road. Here's a detailed description of it as well as newly unveiled character posters for the film.
The scene begins with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) standing next to his car, as a bizarre lizard with two heads runs away. We hear Max say in a voiceover, "My name is Max. My world is fire and blood." The footage continues with a montage of several different cars and motorcycles in this post-apocalyptic wasteland as a chase sequence ensues through a series of tornadoes.
Nicholas Hoult's Nux is driving through one of the tornadoes, while a number of other vehicles give chase as bodies go flying through the air, tagline pops up, reading, "The world belongs to the Mad," as the footage comes to a close.
George Miller went on to reveal that, while Max just wants to be left alone in peace, he gets involved with Charlize Theron's Furiosa, the leader of a war rig traveling through the wasteland. The director also revealed that this movie is closer in tone to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, but he wouldn't confirm where exactly Mad Max: Fury Road is set, in regards to the franchise timeline.
