Marvel just took the stage at Comic-Con with news and clues for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2. S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer, Jeph Loeb, said viewers will see some "big surprises!" The casting of Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley, a "dangerous" veteran of S.H.I.E.L.D was confirmed. Reed Diamond, a Dollhouse favorite, will play Hydra villain Daniel Whitehall. Nick Blood joins the series as Lance Hunter. In a video featuring Patton Oswalt, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. teased the introduction of Bobbi Morse, better known to comic book aficionados as Mockingbird. The character has a history with S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hawkeye. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 9PM.
Agent Carter series showrunners, Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, talked about moving from their previous series, Resurrection, to Agent Carter, and they revealed that we’ll see some very strong female characters “both good and bad”. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who wrote the Carter character in both Captain America films, say they’re really excited for the series because they didn’t have time to do more with Carter in The Winter Soldier. Agent Carter will be set in 1946, and there will be some historical connectivity with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Russos are directing both the second and third episode of Agent Carter, and Joe Johnston will be directing the fourth episode.
