Cinemax Picks Up Robert Kirkman's "Outcast"

"The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman has a new comic coming soon, and Cinemax has already picked it up and is developing it as an original series.

Debuting in 2014 and published by Skybound, "Outcast" is the story of Kyle Barnes, who has suffered from demonic possession since childhood. As an adult, he takes a spiritual journey to find answers and discovers a possibly apocalyptic secret. In addition to serving as an executive producer, Kirkman will also be writing the series.

"Despite the success of The Walking Dead, Outcast is only my second foray into the horror genre," Kirkman says. "I think Kyle Barnes is every bit as compelling as Rick Grimes and demonic possession is way scarier than zombies, so this is going to be fun."

We've been huge fans of all of Kirkman's work to date, and the premise for this sounds amazing. We're really looking forward to both the comic and the show...more info as we get it.
