Lou Reed (The Velvet Underground) Dead at 71

We're incredibly sad to report that Lou Reed, founding member of the Velvet Underground and one of those influential rock musicians in the history of the genre, died Sunday of complications from a liver transplant. His work in music, film, and art have been a tremendous inspiration to all of us at Vannen Watches, and we're grateful for the decades of brilliant and challenging work he left behind.

There are some detailed eulogies on RollingStone.com, AltPress.com, and on the AP wire. Feel free to check them out for more information on the man and his life. We're just going to put on the two-disc NYC Man compilation and let that run for a while.
